Giorgio Armani is the most famous Italian fashion designer especially recognized for his menswear. He began his professional career as a designer of store windows in a department store and worked hardly his way up to menswear customer. From 1960 to 1972 he worked for the renowned fashion house of Nino Cerutti as a designer and then started working as an independent fashion designer for a number of fashion houses before beginning his own brand name. He introduced his 1st collection of men's outfits in 1975, followed by a collection for women in the same year.

The brand extended all through the late seventies and early eighties, providing a variety of choices at various price points, undergarments, accessories, jeans, and through a contract with L'Oreal, perfumes and beauty items. Giorgio Armani Beauty launched Armani for Women in 1982 and then launched Armani for Men in 1984. These two fragrances are part of a successful series of perfumes released by this brand, continuing into the twenty-first century.
